*Man walks into a store and finds employee*
Man: Alright, I've had enough. Why haven't you guys hired me?!
Employee: Uh...well sir, when did you put in your application?
Man: I never filled out an application.
Employee: Well sir, we can't consider you for employment if you've never filled out an application.
Man: No, that's bullshit, because I've been coming here for years now, and every single time I tell you all how much I love this store and how much I appreciate your customer service, unlike some of your other customers might I add!
Employee: Well, but that doesn't-
Man: AND I even told you that I didn't have a job!
Employee: But sir, that doesn't indicate to us that you would like a job at our store. And again, if you've never filled out an application, we can't consider you. Besides, we're not hiring.
Man: OH! Not hiring, HA! What a laugh. I see your store go through seasonal workers all the time. They come and go like nothing, but you won't consider me as a part-time employee even though I KNOW you've been looking for workers to fill positions? That's insane!
Employee: Sir, we've been looking to hire a few people for management positions. Do you have any management experience?
Man: Well no, but what does that matter?
Employee: ...Well sir, that's what we're looking for. You won't be suitable for the position without management experience.
Man: Oh that's such a load of crap. You know, you'll be waiting around a long time for a manager if you don't lower your standards a little. Who cares if someone knows how to manage a store? I LOVE this store and I'm willing to work here, that's all that should matter to you.
Employee: That...doesn't make any sense.
Man: NO! I'm done. This is over. From now on, no more Mr. Nice Guy.

Man: Fuck you, slut.

Lemon Berry Swirl Cheesecake

Crust
1 1/2 cups almonds
2/3 cup raisins
1/4 cup shredded coconut
1 teaspoon pure vanilla

Grind the almonds into a flour in a food processor. (unfortunately our blender wasn’t capable of this so mine were still a bit chunky!!)
Add the raisins and continue grinding until broken down.
Add the coconut and vanilla. Grind again to incorporate.
Add another 1/2 – 1 teaspoon water if needed to keep the mixture held together when pressed in your hand.
Press evenly into the bottom of a 12″ spring form pan.

Filling
3 cups cashews
3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons lemon juice
2/3 cup agave or other liquid sweetener (I used golden syrup)
Pinch of salt
Lemon zest (from all juiced lemons)
1 cup melted coconut oil
4 cups mixed berries

Blend all except the oil and berries.

Add half of the oil and blend again until completely smooth.
Transfer 1/2 – 2/3 cup of the mixture to a small bowl.
Add all the berries and other half of the oil back to the mixture in the blender and blend until smooth.

Pour the filling evenly over the crust.

Pour blobs of the lemon cream on top.

Using a chopstick, push each blob down into the berry filling before swirling it into the berry cream on the surface.
Chill in the fridge for at least 8 hours, or overnight.
I chucked some strawberries ontop after it had set :)

If you think a year can’t make that much of a difference, or that you’d better set an easy goal because you’re too far gone to be able to achieve a huge goal… I hope this changes your mind.
This didn’t start out as a progress photo, the one on the right was just a quick snap I took the other day (lens cap in hand) because I see myself more accurately in photos than I do in the mirror.  Recently I’ve been trying on some clothes from the Town Whore spring collection, because why not, and I wanted to know if it was working for me or if it looked ridiculous.  Verdict: some of both, yay!  Not pictured: five-inch heels, also both amazing and ridiculous.  Luckily I live in a beach resort area and everyone here dresses slutty all summer, so this year I’m going to join them BECAUSE WHY NOT.
I bought the dress as a clothing goal before many of you were born, and it’s been packed away for twenty years as I inched farther and farther away from that goal.  I finally managed to get on a train going in the right direction, and now finally I can wear this dress.
Changing yourself is not easy, but it is worth it. Your other option is not to do anything and keep complaining about how hard it is and keep wishing that it’ll magically happen on its own someday. How well has that worked so far?
If we don’t already know each other and you have questions, the answers are most likely here, here, here, or in my sidebar, and if you still have questions after that, my ask is always open.
Social support is so important, and if you’re like me and don’t really have family or friends who understand, the fitblr community is such an amazing resource. You guys are my rock, and I love each and every one of you.  When we all move to Fitblr Island I promise I’ll throw the best beach party ever for you guys. ♥

I started at this same weight and hopefully in a year I can have an equally as awesome after picture!

Alec Sulkin once tweeted: “I hate those unrealistic movies where women are friends.”

Sadly, I think he has a point. I see so much girl-on-girl hatred and judgement, and when you add something like weight loss or fitness into the equation, a lot of ugly competitiveness, jealousy, and…

Those women that hate on other women have their own insecurity issues that should and obviously doesn’t affect you! I love this and I wish more women thought like this! I work in the beauty industry and it is just sad how women treat eachother! We should be happy for those that lead the way not trying to knock them down by any means necessary!

…I don’t know if I really believed I would do it, since I had tried losing weight many times before and never ultimately succeeded.

But I’m proud to say that today marks the day I have finally lost 60 lbs! 60.4 to be exact. I am 155.8 lbs today :)

I have 10.8 lbs to my tentative ultimate goal weight of 145….couldn’t be happier :’D

You are definitely an inspiration because this too is my goal for 2013, to lose 60 pounds and my UGW is 145!
